Get support to stay in your home
Introduction to Supporting People
Supporting People is a fund to help people to be in their own home and lead independent lives wherever possible. This might be hostel accommodation, supported housing or floating support. We give people the right support so that they can work towards living in their own home and being as independent as possible.
Who do we help?
- People with nowhere to live who are homeless
- People who are sleeping rough
- Families with nowhere to live
- People who are experiencing or at risk from domestic abuse
- Teenagers who are leaving care, facing a lot of risks or becoming a parent themselves
- People who are working with probation services
- People from the gypsy/traveller community
What do we do?
St Helens Borough Council provides some of the help and we also use different organisations to give support to people who need help.
We make sure that they provide a good service so that people can get the support that they need. That might be supported accommodation with staff available 24 hours a day or floating support when someone visits you at home
There are lots of different ways to support people who have different needs. Supporting People work with other agencies like probation, health services and social care to make sure we are giving the right help, to the right people.
