Couples who wish to form a civil partnership can book the statutory register office on a Wednesday at 9.30 am this is a low key signing of a legal document attended by the couple and two witnesses only.

Converting a same-sex civil partnership into a marriage
Same-Sex couples can convert a civil partnership into a marriage at the register office at St Helens Town Hall your civil partnership must have been formed before the 29 March 2014.
The fee for converting a civil partnership into a marriage at a register office is £50 (not including certificate). Please note that this is an administrative appointment and not a ceremony.
If you choose to have an additional non-statutory conversion ceremony, at a venue of your choice, please note that there is an additional administrative conversion fee of £30 additional ceremony fees apply, plus the certificate fee, which is £12.50 per certificate.
