Look for childcare

Whether you are a parent looking for childcare or you need some advice and support with bringing up your child, we can either help you or, if not, tell you who can.

You can search for childcare, activities and other family services using our online directory.

Childcare choices

The online directory provides information about the different childcare choices in St Helens, such as:

It tells you what they offer, when they are open and where to find them. Information is updated directly by providers and includes details on what they charge and whether or not they offer free early education places. It also provides advice on what to look for when choosing childcare, so that you know they are safe.

If your child is disabled or has special needs, the online directory also includes details of providers who have expertise in specific areas. You may also wish to view our Special Education Needs & Disabilities (SEND) website for more help.

Activities and support

Childcare providers supply us with information about regular activities for children and young people of all ages to do, from parent and toddler groups to karate lessons and youth clubs, that are also displayed on the online directory. The St Helens Library Service Catalogue is also a great source of information for activities and knowledge.
