Featuring music from Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman to Star Wars and Harry Potter, this was a musical evening from Valley Brass Band based in Haydock, St Helens. They are a second section band, and their aim is to encourage musical interest and develop talent in all age groups and abilities.

Rainhill 190
2019 marked 190 years since the Rainhill Trials. To celebrate this occasion, Rainhill village was a hub of exciting activity over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Rainhill Library took part in the celebrations and hosted 2 exciting arts activities.

A Decade of Dream
St Helens' award-winning Dream sculpture turned 10 years old in 2019 and to celebrate this milestone, the public were invited to attend an evening of community-focused cultural events themed around the iconic public artwork, including photography, artist talks, poetry, and performance.

Refugee Week
People from the St Helens refugee, asylum seeker and resettlement community explored and interpreted the St Helens local archives with artists Claire Weetman and Rebecca Ainsworth, bringing together experiences and ideas to create a new unique artwork. The multi-layered artwork featured photographic and printed collages, images copied from St Helens Community Archive, plus new imagery provided by the project participants.

Arts Ambassadors Exhibition
Working with artist Paul Harfleet, young people from across St Helens Borough created a very special exhibition. Inspired by Paul's book, Pansy Boy, the students led creative workshops in their schools to create an exhibition of artwork which they curated and installed in the library themselves.
The students all achieved a Bronze Arts Award as part of this project.

When Another Dragon Roars
When Another Dragon Roars fused Altered Scale Theatre's outstanding puppetry with Petite Ullaloom's distinctive storytelling, providing a memorable experience for children and the young at heart!

Portals
A portal opened. A mysterious glowing disk appeared in Haydock Library inviting people to play.
Portals was a mesmerising interactive experience for all ages and abilities, allowing users to intuitively generate complex patterns through movement and colour.
