How Can Life Go On?
Local book artist Kate Bufton invited people to attend workshops across multiple St Helens libraries during January, to help her create a new artwork that honoured the many books burned during the Holocaust by Nazi storm-troopers.

The Funny Thing About...
A stand-up show for children aged over six, their parents and anyone who likes comedy without the rude words. Making fun of everything from couscous to penguins, to Nintendo Wii, James Campbell's comedy got children and their parents laughing out-loud together.

Orbit
Working with an inclusive cast of dancers of varying physical ability - Orbit explored the dancers' relationship to nature and the solar system in a new dance work created and performed by their inclusive company, working closely with choreographer Aya Kobayashi, film maker Natalie Kennedy and inclusive light practitioner Rachel Liggitt.

Following on from a two-week residency in St Helens Libraries, Ian Stringer premiered this new work as part of LGBT History Month 2017. The work explored the relationship between a dying father and his sons, and the judgements placed upon those who threaten societies' order.

Hippo On Ice
An exciting tale about a hippo who learnt how to dance and what the mischief monkeys get up to in the jungle. Performed by Break Dancers, willing audience members were invited to take part in short dance workshops led by the hippos and monkeys after the show.

Get On the Wall
Audiences were invited down to St Helens Central Library to celebrate International Day of Happiness as St Helens' Jack Russel Terrier, international DJ and part-time stand-up comedian Ralph curated a group of St Helens musicians and creatives to celebrate and explore what happiness means to them.
This event was a heady mix of art, music, spoken-word poetry and silliness.

A Place Called Happiness
Debs Gatenby spent a year thinking about happiness. It brought her down. This show was a year in the making - and was Deb's response to society's seeming obsession with happiness. An honest, real, funny and engaging show filled with stories and secrets shared, Debs took us on her journey off the sofa into the world in the pursuit of something called happiness.

Best Foot Forward
Mikron Theatre presented a story celebrating the rich history and beauty of YHA Hostel Pearling Manor. We followed Connie, the hostel's first ever warden on a journey the YHA's past, in the hope of securing its future.
