Handa's Surprise
Based on the much-loved books by Eileen Brown, Handa's Surprise let audiences travel to Kenya to follow in Handa's footsteps as she journeyed to meet her best friend in the next village. This was an intimate spell-blinding show with vibrant performers, singing, stomping and Swahili rhythms.

An Austentacious Murder
Highly Suspect presented an interactive murder mystery, and contemporary re-imagining of the works of Jane Austin. Audiences were invited to grill the suspects, crack the codes and discover the wit and wisdom of one of the UK's finest writers.

The Travelling Letter Exchange
The Travelling Letter Exchange was a touring letter writing bureau, inviting audiences to sit and write a letter, creating a new record of life in the Northwest in 2017. This celebration of letter-writing marked the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's death. Every participant received a letter back from artist Laura Jamieson.

Lip Service Theatre Company took a comic look at Jane Austen's letters. From Quill to Snapchat: with extracts from Austen's novels, letters to family members and wickedly funny observations on her neighbours, they looked at Jane's vivid account of everyday life.

Another Wintery Tale
Audiences joined story-telling explorers on their tent as they took shelter from the cold. Snowy fables, wintery songs and heart-warming stories were shared. Liverpool Sound and Vision called this show 'a charming and positive production that will brighten any young person's day'.
