Join us at the 2024 St Helens Santa Dash! Saturday 7th December, 11am in Victoria Park
This fun event is for all abilities; you can run, walk, skip or jump with friends and family around the 4km loop! Entry is £5 for adults and £2 for children/young people aged 5-18. Children under 5 are welcome free of charge. Every paying participant will receive a hat to wear on route, plus a medal when you finish. (If you would like a Santa Hat and a medal for a child under 5, you can pay the £2 if you wish). All profits will go to the Mayor's Charity; The St Helens Young Carers Centre. Our Autumn Couch to 5k programme starts on Monday 23rd September 2024. This 10-week beginner fitness programme uses a mix of walking and (optional) jogging, to gradually build up your running/walking ability. National Fitness Day - Monday 9th September 2024 - FREE Taster Sessions!
Join us on Monday 9th September, as we celebrate National Fitness Day! Come and try our Gentle Exercise class at Peasley Cross United Reformed Church taking place 11.15-12pm - just wear something comfortable and bring a drink. Looking to Volunteer? Join us at the 2024 St Helens Colour Run!
This year's St Helens Colour Run is taking place on Saturday 29th June in Victoria Park, helping to raise vital funds for Willowbrook Hospice. If you'd like to lend a hand on the day, or maybe gain some volunteer experience, we're looking for friendly marshals who can support the fun runners around the course - no experience necessary! Are you looking for family activities during the Easter holidays? We're working with our colleagues at St Helens Libraries to bring you three free Family Fun Activity sessions, suitable for families with children aged 4-11 years. We'll take you through some fun gentle movement to music and an adventure or book hunt around the library:

'Buddle' Launch Offers Support to Grassroots Sport and Physical Activity
Buddle is a National Lottery funded, Sport England programme - replacing Club Matters. It provides free learning and support resources, to inspire and strengthen clubs and organisations offering sport and physical activity.
Resources available include:
- Current, trusted, information, advice and guidance to help with all aspects of developing, running, and growing a club or organisation
- Tools and guidance you need to help your club or organisation become more inclusive and resilient
- Access to training and development opportunities to improve and develop skills, knowledge, and confidence
- Relevant news and developments from across the sector

Join us for some family fun this February half-term! Our family multi-sports session is suitable for families of all ages and abilities. You may be a parent looking for local activities you can do with your children, or maybe you're a grandparent! Sessions are just £5 per family (not per person), for a 2-hour session. Activities on offer will include badminton, indoor tennis, dodge ball, fun games and more. Remember, these are sessions for families to be active together, so there must be an adult (aged 18+) present at all times. There is no minimum age for children, activities can be adapted as required.

On Your Marks, Get Set, for the 2023 St Helens Santa Dash!
Join us for this year's St Helens Santa Dash, taking place on Saturday 9th December, 11am in Victoria Park. The festive family-friendly 4k fun run is suitable for all ages and abilities - with this year's event forming part of the Borough of Culture celebrations.
Entry to take part is just £5 for adults and £2 for children and young people aged 5-18, which includes a Santa hat and medal. All proceeds go to the Mayor of St Helens Borough's chosen charity, the Deafness Resource Centre in Dentons Green.
Children under 5 can take part free of charge (though you can pay the £2 entry fee if you would like a Santa hat and medal).

Government Launches New Sport Strategy
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has published the government's new sport strategy, 'Get Active: A strategy for the future of sport and physical activity'.
The new sport strategy has a strong focus on increasing participation and ensuring sport and physical activity is accessible to everyone, regardless of background or postcode. It clearly identifies the role physical activity can play in the health and wellbeing of our nation, and how sport can be a force for good, by reducing pressures on the NHS, improving educational attainment and bringing our communities together.

St Helens Canoe Taster Sessions - Sankey Canal
We're excited to be working with St Helens Canoe Club to bring you 2 more Canoe taster sessions on Sankey Canal. No previous experience is needed and all equipment is provided, just £6 per canoe (not per person). Maximum of 2 people in a canoe, all aged 7 years+ and one person must be aged 18+
